Get Your Souper Heroes Ingredients at the Market!

On February 24 the Market will be hosting a Souper Heroes fundraiser where soup-makers are invited to bring soup to the Market and help raise funds for the Worthington Resource Pantry.  Soup chefs are encouraged to get ingredients at the Market and Team Veggie Spy has been scouring the aisles for your soup shopping list! Note select vendors will be offering discounts for soup makers.
Let’s start with soup basics. 9N Farm has carrots, winter squash and sweet potatoes. Get onions at Mud Run Farm. There’s plenty of greens available, including kale from Rock Dove and Franklinton Farms, and spinach from Moreland Fruit Farm. Foraged & Sown has garlic. Shitake mushrooms are a great soup addition and can be found at multiple mushroom vendors including Marion Mushroom. Top off your soup with leek, cilantro, or beet microgreens from Seven Acres Farm.

Cheesy soup chefs can use Southern Ting’s Macaroni Pie Cheese Sauce as a base, get raclette from Black Radish Creamery for French onion soup, or use tomato basil cheese from Ohio Farm Direct for elevating tomato soup.

Another option is wheat berries from Mud Run Farm for a barley-like soup. Add zing to your soup from the large selection of herbs and seasonings at Blue Owl. Or go spicy by adding hot sauces from Montezuma or Underworld Feast. Meat lovers should check out North Country Charcuterie for sausage, as well as Red Moon Ranch and McCarty for other awesome meat options for your soup!

Community table

The American Legion is many things to many people. For veterans, it is a place to gather in the camaraderie of shared experience. For members of the Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion, it is a place to show gratitude for the service and sacrifice of our soldiers and their families. For non-profit organizations, it is a meeting place and source of financial support. For youth organizations, it is a place for service opportunities and a source of funding. For community members, it is a place to meet family and friends, old and new.
