What’s Happening in Worthington This October

October is an exciting month in and around Worthington! We’ve rounded up a highlight of events happening this month, from markets to sales, concerts to open houses, to fun and spooky Halloween activities. 

Worthington Farmers Market: Saturdays, October 1, 15, 22, and 29

Fall is in abundance at the Worthington Farmers Market! Visit for all the autumn produce, fresh apple cider, late-blooming flowers, and so much more. NOTE: there is no farmers market on Saturday, Oct. 8! More information at worthingtonfarmersmarket.com.

Market Day: Saturday, October 8

The Worthington Chamber of Commerce’s annual Market Day returns on Saturday, Oct. 8 with more than 130 exhibitors with handmade arts and crafts, numerous charitable and civic organizations, live entertainment, food, and family friendly fun. The Thomas Worthington High School Marching Band performs at noon on the northwest corner of the Village Green. More information at worthingtonchamber.org/old-worthington-market-day

Antique Sale on the Village Green: Saturday, October 8

Coinciding with Market Day, the Worthington Historical Society hosts an antique sale on the southeast Village Green. Antique vendors will have a wide variety of antiques and collectibles, while The Shop at the Old Rectory will set up a booth with antiques, too. Ghost Trolley at the Ohio Railway Museum: October 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, 29-30

The Ohio Railway Museum brings back its annual Ghost Trolley, a spooky ride designed for kids and families. You can tour the decorated trains at the museum, then board the #64 streetcar for a ride down the track. Along the way you’ll hear the story of the Ghost Trolley! Fall Crawl: Thursday, October 13

New this year, the Worthington Partnership invites you to its inaugural Fall Crawl. The event is similar to the popular February Chocolate Walk, but the treats will have a harvest theme (think pumpkin, apple, spice, etc.). Tickets are $25, and give you a program and wristband to visit 15 businesses to experience thoughtful treats. No tickets are sold at the door, and it will sell out! High Road Gallery Art Brunch: Saturday, October 15

High Road Gallery hosts its final Art Brunch of the season on Saturday, Oct. 15. Tour the artists’ studios, see demonstrations, enjoy live music, sample brunch from a local food truck. The next day High Road’s latest exhibition, Visions of Color, hosts its opening reception from 2-4 p.m. More information at highroadgallery.com.

Columbus Cultural Orchestra: A Symphonic Night of 90’s Hip-Hop: Friday, October 21

A crossover between tradition and contemporary, Columbus Cultural Orchestra starts off their season with a performance at the McConnell Arts Center. The evening will be a tribute to 1990’s hip-hop, bringing back classics to the orchestral world. You can expect to hear throwbacks from SWV, Brandy, Usher, Destiny’s Child, Aaliyah, and more! Look forward to creative instrumentation including vocals, drums, keyboard, and DJ to form a head bopping, beat dropping innovative performance. Sunday Funday Spooky Pooch Party: Sunday, October 23

The Worthington Partnership’s monthly Sunday Funday series is always a blast, and October’s theme is Spooky Pooch Party. Visit the historic district for loads of pet- and family-friendly fun. This annual dog-themed event is now combined with some Halloween flair! There will be great food specials, live music, games, dog tricks and treats, rescue pups, and entertainment. Don’t forget: the Old Worthington DORA is every day, which means you can get a beverage to go to and enjoy the shops and neighborhood. The Pup Parade at Sunday Funday: Sunday, October 23

During the Sunday Funday event, there will be a pup parade on the southeast Village Green at 2 p.m. Registration is $10 per pup, and is required. There will be prizes for the best-dressed pups! Register here: experienceworthington.com/sunday-funday.

Walnut Grove Cemetery Ghost Tours: Thursday, October 27

The Worthington Historical Society’s popular ghost tours return at the end of October – this year completely in Walnut Grove Cemetery! Worthington residents spanning the centuries who have made Walnut Grove their final resting place will be out and about after dark to share stories. Halloween on the Green: Friday, October 28

The City of Worthington hosts a collection of family-friendly Halloween activities on Friday, Oct. 28 from 6-8 p.m. on the Village Green. This special event is full of spooky activities that everyone can enjoy, from Trick or Treat, arts and crafts, live entertainment, and more!

Trick or Treat night: Monday, October 31

Worthington’s Trick or Treat Night always falls on October 31. Don your costumes, stroll the neighborhood, and enjoy the evening from 6-8 p.m.
