This seasonal celebration highlights the diversity and abundance of our community’s food - and every bite tells the story of the farmers, growers, and makers who bring it to life.

SNAP/EBT & Produce Perks

Summer produce is in season! Here’s a quick guide for food storage to help you keep summer produce fresher longer:

  • Squash -store in a ventilated bag or box in the fridge.

  • Peppers - store in a ventilated bag or box in the fridge.

  • Tomatoes- taste best stored at room temperature! Store in a bowl on the counter with plenty of airflow.

  • Fresh corn on the cob- keep the husk on and store in the fridge. For best flavor, eat ASAP!

  • Eggplants- for best flavor, store in a cool, dry place. Store separately from tomatoes, apples, or banana (which can make them ripen/over-ripen too quickly!)

Shopping with EBT at a participating Produce Perks farmers’ market? Here’s how to get extra fruits and veggies for free with Produce Perks. Visit ProducePERKS.org/locations or text your county to 5136434264 to learn more!
