The holidays in Worthington are always an exciting time filled with everything from open houses in the historic district to plays and concerts, from pop-up markets to craft shows, from parties to caroling. Here are some of the highlights happening around town this season.

70th Anniversary Holiday Open House & Tree Lighting | November 26

This year marks the 70th year for the Holiday Open House in Old Worthington! Always held the Sunday after Thanksgiving, the annual Holiday Open House returns Sunday, November 26 from noon to 5 p.m. Bring the family to enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday season, including horse-drawn carriage rides, iceless skating rink, live music, and a photo opportunity with Santa. Local retailers will be offering special promotions and sidewalk sales.

Holiday Open House is followed by the Worthington tree lighting on the Southeast Village Green at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy some hot chocolate and caroling before St. Nick himself arrives to light the tree!

Wonderful Window Displays & Photo Spots

The Worthington Partnership’s holiday window design contest returns for this season for the retailers of Old Worthington. The neighborhood merchants have joined with The Partnership and their creative volunteers for “It’s a Wonderful Window Contest” and have transformed the window displays into holiday magic.

Volunteers have also built and installed a trio of holiday-themed photo spots through the historic district. We’ll kick off the completed windows and photo spots at the Holiday Open House on November 26, and they’ll be up through the end of the year. Thank you to our friends at American Sign Studio for the fantastic vinyls and the army of volunteers for installing the photo spots!

And there’s so much more, from open houses and pop-up shops, to concerts and happy hours, to train rides and letter-writing to Santa! Keep up with everything happening on the Holidays in Worthington page:
