Worthington Tourism Ambassadors
The Worthington Tourism Ambassador program is a volunteer group that has a passion for sharing Worthington with visitors, and is excited to learn more about the travel and hospitality industry. Our goal is to make visitors to our city feel welcome and informed about all the things there are to do and see here.
If you are interested in joining the newsletter list for this group, or if you have any questions, please email Elizabeth Dekker, Tourism Director.
The National Certified Tourism Ambassador program is run here in Central Ohio by Experience Columbus. This half-day class provides education about the hospitality industry while giving participants a framework to better welcome an inform visitors to the area. This special class taught for Worthington will also include a 45 minute background on Worthington’s history and all we offer in this city.
This class is not mandatory to be part of the Worthington Ambassador Program, although it is encouraged as it provides a solid foundation on the travel industry and a great wealth of knowledge about Worthington.

We are excited to provide ongoing education for those who are interested in Worthington, and sharing it with visitors. We’ll have optional meetings several times a year with speakers from various groups and organizations to learn more about what the city has to offer.
We have a plethora of events in Worthington, and over 75% of attendees are from outside of the 43085 zip code. This allows for lots of opportunity to welcome, inform, and help these visitors experience Worthington. We’ll send out invitations to volunteer at these events as Welcome Ambassadors, where you can pass out area maps, answer questions, and provide directions and information to folks wanting to learn more!
